The Amazon Rainforest:
The Amazon Rainforest is one of the great wonders of South America. You will be able to explore this vast wetland biome filled with man-eating crocodiles, flesh-eating piranhas, poison dart frogs full of deadly toxins, and army ants ready to swarm at any moment. On top of all that, South America has numerous tour companies that will take you through the Amazon Rainforest. You can see the giant trees of the rainforest canopy which are typically home to hundreds of different plant and animal species, including fruit bats. South America is one of the only places in the world where you can find these flying mammals.
The Galapagos Islands:
The Galapagos Islands are located just west of Ecuador. The Galapagos Islands are volcanic archipelagos that have been formed by South American fire mountains which produce South America’s famous South American fire eruptions. South America is home to three South American fire mountain ranges: The South American Pacific South American volcanic arc, the South American Andes South American Mountains, and the South American Atlantic South American Mountains. Many of these volcanoes are still active today including the Llaima Volcano in Chile.
Inca Trail to Machu Picchu:
The Inca Trail is a must-see for any South America lover who loves hiking trails! Located in Peru, it leads all the way up to Machu Picchu via a scenic route through the Andes Mountain range which includes amazing views of triple border point towns like Puerto Iguazú, Argentina; Cusco, South American Republic; and Puno, South American Republic.

Machu Picchu was made famous by its inclusion in 1930s Hollywood films like “Lost Horizon” with music composed by South American legend of classical music like Johann Sebastian Bach. Machu Picchu is one of South America’s most visited tourist destinations.
